We’d love for you to visit our home, La Vista, in the village of Cofresí, Dominican Republic. Cofresí is one of the great locations in the Dominican Republic and when you visit there are 5 things you must do.

1. Visit Le Papillon, a mixed cuisine restaurant run by a German that gives a portion of its proceeds to benefit Dominican Republic turtles. At Le Papillon you can try steaks, pork, chicken and vegetarian dinners prepared by a master chef and staff.
2. Arrange to spend a day at the Ocean World Resort. At Ocean World your kids can swim with dolphins, watch sharks being fed, and learn all about the many species that make up the complex ecosystem of the Dominican Republic. Be sure to book your Ocean World visit in advance, since they are a high demand location.
3. After a day at Ocean World, tuck the kids in early so you can explore another kind of local wildlife at places like the Ocean World Casino or catch the latest Bravissimo show with the kind of performance and costumes you’d expect in a Broadway production.
4. Get out and about and to the beach! Playa Cofresí is one of the best beaches, not just in the Dominican Republic, but the world. It’s a fantastic place to spend a lazy day and, at La Vista, not only do you get a great view of Playa Cofresí, but it’s just a short walk from your front door.
5. Search for buried treasure! Well, we’re only sort of joking. Legend has it that infamous Caribbean pirate Roberto Cofresí buried his treasure somewhere near Cofresí itself. Metal detector anyone?
